We spent half of our lives dreading old age but when it’s finally here, we don’t even realize it and don’t even feel bad about it. Though we are not the same party person we used to be, our life is still fun, just a different kind of fun. But the question is, how do you officially know you are getting older? Is there a set age that tells when a person gets old? Many would say 40 years of age but I have seen over-40 somethings running in sweat pants with “JUICY” bedazzled across the back. Of course you can’t call them old. Seriously there is no set age for getting old. But if you want to know whether you are on the track to getting old, look out for these 30 signs you are getting older.
1- You feel good when you get carded
When you get carded, people probably think you are younger and your real age isn’t very obvious. That is something to be happy about but a sure sign you are getting older.
2- There are all baby pictures in your Facebook News Feed
3- Or, your Facebook friends post marathon pictures
If your friends attend marathon events and participate in them instead of going to concerts and dance parties, it sure means you are getting older.
4- When you go to a concert and look for “SEATS”
Old people need to sit down. Standing and cheering for your favorite musician during the whole event seems so tiring now.
5- You tell a story about your college times and realize it was 10 years ago
Time passes so quickly you won’t realize when it will be 10 or more years you attended college.
6- When you side with the parents in teen movies and TV shows
There was a time when those parents in teen movies looked like villains but now when you are old, you find yourself siding with them.
7- You leave a bar because its too loud
When you are old, you will be surprised at how young people can stay in a place bursting with loud music. It just gives you headache and you would rather leave and go home.
8- You have an infinite number of business cards from old jobs
You have been through a hard time in your life, doing different jobs to make an earning. Now when you are old enough, you will find these old business cards useless.
9- You are a frequent sunscreen user
All those years, you took your skin for granted and neglected using sunscreen. But now as old age is coming closer, your wrinkles are getting more obvious and so, you regularly use sunscreen to make up for those years of neglect.
10- You find a hope when you look at cool celebs in their early thirties
Being in your thirties doesn’t mean you have to look bad. Looking at those cool celebs in their thirties, you find hope.
11- You are scared of checking your credit score
Life is full of stress now. If you have a family, expenses would be soaring high and you would be really scared to check your credit score.
12- You are thinking about getting a dog or a baby
You want to move on with your life when you get old. You want a family of your own, something to do than just partying all night. Getting a dog or a baby would be on your mind.
13- You prefer a “nice, clean and calm” hotel room over a hostel shared with 12 friends
In your teens, you would trade anything to stay with your friends and party all night. But now when you are getting older, you would rather pay more for a nice and clean hotel room than a crappy hostel shared with your friends.
14- All those cool things out there are being marketed to people younger than you
All those things you found so cool in your teens are now sold to people younger than you. And you feel embarrassment when picking them up from the shelf at the supermarket.
15- Your body has lost the enzyme that lets you digest fast food
Oh, how you loved to eat fast food all the time. No matter how many burgers and fries you ate, you could always digest them. But now, you need a half bottle of Tums after you eat a burger.
