16. Cara Delevingne and St. Vincent

Annie Clark or better known by her stage name St. Vincent is a musician, singer-songwriter, and multi-instrumentalist. She was a member of Sufjan Stevens’s touring band before forming her own band in 2006. In an interview with Rolling Stone whether she identified as gay or straight, St. Vincent replied, “I don’t think about those words. I believe in gender fluidity and sexual fluidity. I don’t really identify as anything. [. . .] I think you can fall in love with anybody. I don’t have anything to hide but I’d rather the emphasis be on music”.

The model and actress Cara Delevingne, on the other hand, is openly bisexual. In June 2015, she confirmed her relationship with the musician. After Vogue reported that Delevingne’s relationship was a “phase,” she shot back saying, “My sexuality is not a phase.” But after a year and a half of dating, the two called it quits.

Cynthia Nixon is well-known for her portrayal of Miranda Hobbes where she won a 2004 Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. From 1988 to 2003, Nixon was in a relationship with schoolteacher Danny Mozes. They have two children together, daughter Sam and son Charles Ezekiel.

In 2004, the actress started dating education activist Christine Marinoni and got engaged in 2009. In 2012, they tied the knot in New York city. In 2011, Christine Marinoni gave birth to a son. They are now happily married.

14. Sir Elton John and David Furnish

Sir Elton John was engaged to be married to his first lover, secretary Linda Woodrow in the but married German recording engineer Renate Blauel in an attempt to cover his sexuality. In an interview with Rolling Stone in 1976, he came out as bisexual. It wasn’t until his divorce in 1988 he told the magazine he was “comfortable” being gay.

In 1993, he began a relationship with David Furnish and have been together ever since. In 2005, John and David were among the first couples in the UK to enter a civil partnership. But after gay marriage became legal in England in March 2014, the couple tied the knot in Windsor, Berkshire, on the ninth anniversary of their civil partnership. They have two sons.

Before publicly coming out as a lesbian, Wanda Sykes was married to record producer Dave Hall from 1991 to 1998. In 2006, she dated French woman Alex Niedbalski. But it wasn’t until 2008 when she publicly came out as a lesbian while at a same-sex marriage rally in Las Vegas.

The couple tied the knot in 2008 and on April 2009  Alex gave birth to a pair of fraternal twins, daughter Olivia Lou and son Lucas Claude. Wanda only came out to her conservative mother Marion and father Harry when she was 40, who both initially had difficulty accepting her homosexuality. They declined to attend her wedding with Alex, which led to a brief period of estrangement but have since reconciled and are now proud grandparents to the couple’s children.
