#8 But They Needed A Few Supplies
Since Maverick wasn’t able to walk very well due to the infection spreading to his legs, the family knew that they needed to get him a wagon in order to be able to travel around easier. They decided to head to their local Lowe’s in search of the perfect wagon for Maverick’s last day.
#7 They Got Help From The Staff
Once they made it to the hardware megastore, they realized getting supplies might be harder than expected. The bills from the vet were adding up, and they didn’t have a lot of disposable income to work with. But the staff quickly heard Maverick’s story and decided to help the family out by offering a huge discount on the wagon they had found.
#6 Maverick Was Spoiled With Treats
Not only did Maverick get to travel around on his own personal wagon, but he was given treats as well! Everyone knows that dogs love to eat human food, but they aren’t always given it since it can be harmful to their health. Well, since it was Maverick’s last day, he got all the cheeseburgers and ice cream he could want.
#5 He Started Making A Recovery!
Shockingly, the treats that one might normally avoid giving their dog actually appeared to help Maverick start to make a recovery! Although he couldn’t walk very well still, he appeared to be feeling better and more energetic! This was the last thing the family had been expecting this day. So what did this recovery mean?
#4 He Was Going To Make It!
The family took Maverick back to the vet to get him checked out once and for all. Had the cancer returned and gone away, and will it be back? Well, they quickly found out that the cancer never came back in the first place! Unfortunately, Maverick had still been infected with a nervous system disease that made his back legs useless.
