Ridiculous Movie Mistakes You Proba...

Ridiculous Movie Mistakes You Probably Missed

Movies are one of the favorite past times nowadays. Who doesn’t love a good blockbuster, right? Not to mention the special effects are just mind blowing. But no matter how perfect any movie would seem virtually any of it, even a great one, can fall short and make errors and factual mistakes. In most cases, these mistakes go unnoticed by the public. But some are so painfully obvious and downright ridiculous it’s just a miracle these errors survived the editing process. Are you a nerd? Then put it to the test by checking these movie errors out.

12. Star Wars

star wars

You love or hate this movie. The Star Wars franchise is one of the most successful movies of all time given that each installment was filmed in different periods. Starting from the 70s up to the new millennium. The movie is elaborate and very grand. From the set, costumes, down the props everything looked perfect. Or does it? In this photo, a Startrooper accidentally bumped his head while exiting. Pretty funny as these creatures looked like they have no sense of humor.

11. Back to the futureback to the future

Back to the future was one of the most commercially successful movies back in the 80s. It’s about a small-town teen named Marty McFly who traveled back into 1955 when the experiment of his wacky scientist friend went amiss. There was a scene when he was rocking a guitar solo which was pretty dope. But the guitar Marty was playing didn’t come out until 1958. But who cares, his guitar solo was off the hook. That is if it was really him playing the guitar.

10. Sound of Musicsound of music

This classic musical drama film is one of the must-watch classic films of all time. It is based on the real-life story of the Von Trapp family singers. In the ending of the movie, the Von Trapp family crosses the alps outside of Salzburg to escape Austria and got to Switzerland but geographically speaking they could only get to Germany.

9. Panic Roompanic room jodie foster

In the movie, Jodie Foster’s character sets propane on fire and then drops to the floor so she won’t get caught on fire as the fire rises to the ceiling. If you’re an average joe, you wouldn’t see the mistake here. But if you’re a science geek then you would know that in reality, propane is heavier than air, so instead of rising it would sink to the floor and burn the people in the room. But who cares about that stuff, all we want is the special effects and explosions.

8. Pirates of the Carribeanpirates of the carribean

In the Pirates of the Carribean movie, there was a scene where Captain Barbossa was holding a granny smith apple and was offering it to Keira Knightly. But truth is, granny smith apples didn’t exist until 1868. The apple originated in Australia and was named after Maria Ann Smith, who propagated the cultivar from a chance seedling. Maybe the red one wasn’t as appealing to Captain Barbossa?

7. Titanictitanic

Who could forget this movie? It is one of the best-selling movies in history. The millennials probably couldn’t relate. But in the movie, Jack tells Rose that he and his father used to go ice-fishing in Lake Wissota. Let’s go back to history and trace the origin of Lake Wissota. The real lake was actually formed by a dam in 1917, while the Titanic sank in 1912. The scriptwriters could have used some other lake.

6. Forrest Gumpforrest gump

In the Oscar-winning movie Forrest Gump, there’s a short scene where Tom Hanks’ character receives a thank you letter from Apple in 1975 after he and his former military colleague and business partner invested some of the profits from the Bubba Gump Shrimp company in “some kind of fruit company”. If Gump was real, and if he was still holding onto his investment today, he would be a billionaire. But in reality, Apple became a public traded company in 1981.

5. 300

In the climactic battle scene between the army of King Leonidas and King Xerxes of Persia, the Persian army used bombs and other explosives to fight King Leonidas’ army. They looked cool and very much advanced compared to the Spartans who only used their swords and bow and arrows. But in reality, black powder wasn’t invented until the 9th century by China.

4. Book of Elibook of eli

The Book of Eli is a post-apocalyptic tale where a lone warrior marches across the ruined wasteland carrying the only hope for humanity’s redemption. Denzel Washington’s character was guarding a Braille bible. In real life, Braille books are much, much longer than printed books, so that means the translation of the bible should be about 38 volumes long. Imagine him, lugging that around.

3. Passion of the Christpassion of the christ

This has baffled people for centuries, even until now. The Passion of the Christ is obviously about the life of Jesus Christ who lived in the Middle East and couldn’t be white. The photo of the presumed “Jesus Christ” we see right now is actually Caesar Borgia. Look it up and you’ll know what I mean.

2. Top Guntop gun

Top Gun was one of the coolest films of its time. Young Tom Cruise rose to fame because of the film. There was a scene in the film where a fighter plane was flying upside down another plane. It was cool to watch. But in real life, if the two cockpits were close enough to say hello, the back wing of both planes would hit each other causing a fatal crash.

1. Gladiator

gladiator

The battle scenes on this movie are epic, that is if you’re a fan of action films. Action-film lovers love a good action stunt that would blow their heads off. In this particular scene, the chariot toppled on its side clearly showed the gas canister underneath it. Guess the horse needed some assistance.

So are you a nerd or an average joe? Some of the mistakes in these movies were neglectable but not if you’re a nerd, right? Although some mistakes were blatant, they were most likely just for special effects’ sake. But now that you these mistakes you’ll never be able to look at the movie the same again. Now when the next blockbuster movie comes out you won’t be mindlessly watching anymore.
