Dani Mathers, Playboy’s Playmate of the Year in 2015, had everything going right in her life. The 30-year-old model is an attractive woman who was recognized as the most beautiful playmates during that year. She seemed to have everything going for her until one fateful day at the gym in #9.

The model had just completed a rigorous workout in order to keep her body slim and tone for her future modeling gigs. Like anyone who had just completed a workout in a public gym, she went into the shower room to wash off the sweat she had broke. And then she saw an old woman.

8. Social Media Mistakes


It was July 2016 and Mathers noticed a 70-year-old woman changing in the locker room. Obviously obsessed with sharing her entire life with her social media followers, she thought it was a good idea to take a picture of the old woman. Before she clicked “share” she thought she’d add one little message to her Snapchat post that you’ll see in #7.

In the few characters that she was limited to on Snapchat, the message accompanying the old woman was “If I can’t unsee this then you can’t either.” Without thinking about the consequences, Mathers hit send. Within minutes, the post made its way to her followers. Her followers decided to take a screenshot and share it with their followers.

6. The Snap Spread Like Wildfire

After a couple of hours, the post had been shared thousands of times. The obvious body-shaming caused major outrage across the Internet. When word got back to the management of her gym they said they would pursue charges for invasion of privacy on the poor unsuspecting woman. Her consequences continue on #5.

5. Facing Charges

She did not realize what she had done was a misdemeanor under California law. Not wanting the negative publicity, Dani tried to get the charges dismissed by seeing a counselor and attending anti-bullying classes. Her legal team even tried to have the charges dismissed arguing her message as too “vague.”

4. Trying To Get The Charges Dismissed

The legal team also tried to dismiss the charges because the image of the old woman was not identifiable.  They argued it took authorities some time to find out exactly who the woman was. 3. Urging The Victim To Come Forward

Authorities urged the old woman to come forward so they could continue with the investigation. She eventually came forward and urged prosecutors to move forward with the case so Mathers could feel “the full force of the law.” She would not let Mathers off too easy. Justice would be served.

At the case’s conclusion, Mathers had pleaded no contest to the charges. If the case had gone to trial she would be facing up to six months in county jail.
