They’re called the “Aussie Kardashians” for a reason. Well, reasons—there are quite a few. Meet sisters Ellie-Jean, Holly-Sue, Ruby-Lee, and Bonnie-Lou. They’re 22, 17, 16, and 13 years old, respectively, and they’ve also got a brother, Jackson, who’s 21. Their range of talents includes surfing, skateboarding, and much more. The group boasts over 1.5 million Instagram followers between all of the siblings—and if you’ve never heard of them before, you’ll probably want to follow them, too, after you see the second photo alone.
Read on for a peek into the sunny lives of the Coffey clan!
A Little Bit Like The Kardashians…
The Coffey siblings range from 14 to 22 years of age and have gathered nearly two million followers on Instagram alone. With fans all across the world, it’s easy to see why people have named the group the Aussie Kardashians. The family admits that they understand the comparison, of course…
…But Only Just A Little
…Really, though, the families are nowhere near identical. Ellie-Jean, the oldest sister, told Sunrise that everyone “obviously can see why we’re compared because of the whole family unit. But obviously, we’re talented, and not fabulously wealthy.”
It’s true, they are talented! The oldest sisters are actually both competitive surfers.
The Australian Open
The two oldest sisters competed as wildcards in this year’s Australian Open of Surfing in Sydney. In addition to their bustling social media presence and athletic prowess, the family also works on sponsorships and modeling contracts. The sisters are part of IMG modeling and have quite a few sponsors.
Modeling And Sponsorships
The wide range of sponsors includes Billabong, SurfStitch, Dakine, and VonZipper. While they’ve been in the water and on land having fun, they’ve also shared over a thousand bikini photos and action videos on surfboards, skateboards, and everything in between. The tan and fit family wasn’t always leading this life, though…
A Life Nomadic
The family unit lived on the road out of a caravan and the children were homeschooled before the group settled down on Austalia’s Gold Coast six years ago. The siblings’ mother, Kym, had suffered a broken neck, and bricklayer father Jason decided to sell the family home and get out.
“I sold the family home so I had a bit of money to go on the road,” Jason told the Daily Telegraph. He doesn’t shy away from the Kardashian comparisons, either. “Say what you like… At the end of the day they’re a big, strong family unit,” he added.
“The fact that I homeschooled all the kids has really made us all very good friends to this day,” Jason also said. It’s easy to see, too, as the family travels together and spends almost all of their time together on the water and on land. That’s not all they have to be proud of…
Plenty Of Attention
They’ve picked up plenty of coverage from the media and fans on the internet for plenty of reasons. Ellie-Jean was recently ranked sixth in Playboy‘s list of hottest surfers, and GQ recently said that “pro surfer Ellie-Jean Coffey practicing her skills on a skateboard is probably the best thing on the internet.”
Hot, But That’s Not All
“They say you shouldn’t be doing this, shouldn’t be doing that, shouldn’t be posting such provocative shots,” Ellie-Jean said to the Daily Telegraph. “But I don’t get that. I think people limit women’s opportunities by thinking they have to be a certain way,” she added.
According to the family’s publicist, this year might just see the Coffey family rise to new heights of fame. They may just be in the final stages of confirming a reality television program with a network in the United States. You’ll want to follow them if you’d like to stay tuned!
If you didn’t know the Coffey sisters before, you sure do now. Go ahead and follow them on social media in order to stay up to date on their adventures. Make sure to like and share this roundup with your friends and family who may enjoy the family’s story as well. It’s truly a tale of the power of social media in creating fame and fortune, right? At the very least, these beach shots should make you want to travel to Australia as soon as possible.
