1. Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen)
Emilia Clarke plays Queen Daenerys Targaryen, who is a major character in all seasons. She is a London born British actress who appeared as a guest spot in Doctors, a BBC drama series before landing her first major television role in Game of Thrones. She then went on to star as Sarah Connor opposite Arnold Schwarznegger in Terminator Genisys. The character, who is also called “the Stormborn”, was an exiled princess of the Targaryen dynasty.
2. Kit Harrington (Jon Snow)
English actor Kit Harrington plays the role of Jon Snow, who is a pivotal character throughout the series. He is also known for his lead roles in Testament of Youth, Ponpeii and Spooks: The Greater Good, as well as for voicing the character Eret in How to Train Your Dragon 2. His character is the bastard son of Lord Eddard Stark, and is widely considered to be one of the most interesting characters in the series.
3. Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell)
English actress Natalie Dormer plays Margaery Tyrell, a major character from the 2nd season through the 6th season of Game of Thrones. She had played the role of Anne Boleyn in The Tudors before she was cast in the HBO series. Natalie Dormer is also known for her roles in Elementary and The Hunger Games: Mockingjay-Part 1 and Part 2. Her character is the only daughter of Lord Mace Tyrell and the sister of Ser Loras Tyrell.
4. Maisie Williams (Arya Stark)
Maisie Williams plays the pivotal role of Arya Stark in all six seasons of Game of Thrones. She made her television debut in the series premiere before appearing in Doctor Who as Ashildr and the mystery film The Falling. Her character is a tomboyish, young daughter of Lord Eddard Stark and Lady Catelyn Stark who travels extensively, learns how to fight and even possesses a direwolf in her dreams.
5. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Jamie Lannister)
Danish actor, producer and screenwriter Nikolaj Coster-Waldau plays the role of Jamie Lannister, who is a pivotal character in all six seasons of the series. The actor is known for appearing in a number of famous movies incluing Black Hawk Down, Kingdom of Heaven and Oblivion. The character is the eldest son of Tywin Lannister, and shares an incestuous sexual relationship with Queen Cersei Lannister.
