Dory has found her soul mate. The couple has been together for 11 years and married for eight years. Both have successful careers and is considered as one of Hollywood’s LGBT power couples.

But before finding each other, the Ally McBeal star Portia De Rossi had a series of relationships and including a marriage with Mel Metcalfe. Initially, Portia was skeptical about being openly gay due to professional reasons but she ultimately stepped out. Portia even legally changed her name to Portia Lee James DeGeneres. Ellen and Portia met backstage during an award’s function and the rest is history.

Lily Tomlin and Jane Wagner may be one of the longest-lived same-sex relationships in Hollywood. The two met back in 1971 before it was even socially acceptable to come out and have been together ever since.

The couple had no formal coming out but has been open about their sexuality.  In 2008, Lily said, “Everybody in the industry was certainly aware of my sexuality and of Jane…in interviews, I always reference Jane and talk about Jane, but they don’t always write about it.” It wasn’t only until December 2013 that Lily and Jane tied the knot in a private ceremony in Los Angeles after 42 years together.

In 2012, he came out because he didn’t want to give anyone the impression that he was ashamed of his sexuality. In 2014, the couple purchased the Rye House, a historic estate in Connecticut.
