We’ve all seen the Disney movies where the girl meets the boy who just happens to be a member of a royal family, and the rest is history. But, stories like this happen in real life all the time! Though not every little girl can grow up to be a princess, some are lucky enough to do so! #18 Princess Madeline
Princess Madeline of Sweden was born into the Swedish Royal Family in the House of Bernadotte. She owns several horses and is an accomplished equestrian, with several international awards under her belt. In 2009, she was engaged to Jacob Bornstein, though their wedding was later called off. She now lives in New York with her financier boyfriend.

#17 Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana
Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana of Thailand is arguably the most adored member of the Thai Royal Family. She is the daughter of Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, a fashion designer, and has been a professional Badminton player for several years. She even won a gold medal during the 2006 SouthEast Asian Games! This next princess breaks the mold with her athletic skills!
#16 Princess Alexandra
Princess Alexandra of Luxembourg Grand Duke Henri and Maria Teresa Mestre y Batista-Falla. She is their fourth child. She’s highly athletic and plays sports like tennis, skiing (in water and snow), and dancing. She’s also very gifted with languages- she speaks Luxembourgish, English, French and Spanish fluently and has a basic knowledge of German and Italian.

#15 Queen Noor
Though she’s not technically a princess, Queen Noor of Jordan is the only American-born royalty on our list! She was born in Washington, D.C. in 1951 as Lisa Najeeb Halaby, but married the late King Hussein of Jordan in 1978. Though he is deceased now, she still lives in Jordan and is involved with the ruling of the country!
#14 Crown Princess Mette-Marit
Mette-Marit, Crown Princess of Norway, was a single mother with four children and a waitressing job when she married into the royal family of her small Scandanavian country. Reportedly, the father of her children is a convicted drug dealer! Still, she is a stellar princess who stays busy with both official duties and charity work.
#13 Princess Charlene
Princess Charlene of Monaco was born in South Africa under the name of Charlene Wittstock. She was an Olympic swimmer for her home country, but recently married Prince Albert of Monaco. Rumors have flown that she almost got cold feet on her wedding day, but it seems like things are settled down now. She and her husband just had twins!
#12 Dutchess Catherine
Catherine, Dutchess of Cambridge, also known as Kate Middleton, really does have a Cinderella story! She was born into a working class family, but studied hard and ended up meeting Prince William of England when attending university. The two have been happily married for several years and have two beautiful children- Charlotte and George! This next princess is wicked smart!
#11 Princess Sonam Dechen Wangchuck
Who says princesses can’t go to college?! Princess Sonam Dechen Wangchuck of Bhutan is the daughter of King Jigme Singye Wangchuck. In addition to being a member of Bhutan’s royal family, she has a degree in international relations, and TWO Master’s in Law- one from Stanford and the other from Harvard!
#10 Princess Malfalda
Princess Mafalda of Bulgaria is another one of our performing princesses! She is the daughter of a Bulgarian king and a Spanish socialite but is currently studying vocal performance in the United States. She has performed in several shows and is hoping to release an album in the future. From what we’ve heard, she has a beautiful voice!
#9 Princess Ameerah Ah-Taweel
Princess Ameerah Ah-Taweel of Saudi Arabia is the wife of Prince Alwaleed bin Talal. She graduated from the University of New Haven magna cum laude with a degree in Business Administration so this princess has beauty and brains! She is now the Vice Chair of an international philanthropic organization that aims to alleviate poverty worldwide. Is there anything this princess can’t do?
#8 Princess Sikhanyiso Dlamini
Princess Sikhanyiso Dlamini of Swaziland hails from a royal family with more than TWO HUNDRED members, due to the custom of polygamy. She has been outspoken in the fight against this practice, and is a rapper commonly known by the name “Pashu.” Currently, though, she’s studying for a Master’s degree in Australia. Very impressive!
#7 Princess Alexandra von Furstenberg
Princess Alexandra von Fursten was born Alexandra Miller but married into to German Royal Family in 1995. Though she is now divorced, she still maintains good relations with her former family. She works as a fashion designer in the United States, where she lives, but reportedly travels to Germany often to visit with her once mother-in-law!

Princess Haya bint al-Hussein, more commonly known as Princess Haya of Jordan, is an accomplished equestrian athlete, having competed at the 2000 Summer Olympics in Sydney and the 2002 World Equestrian Games in Spain. We’re sure that her parents, King Hussein and Queen Alia, are quite proud!

#5 Crown Princess Mary Elizabeth
Mary Elizabeth, Crown Princess of Denmark, very well may be the most hard-working princess on our list! She is originally from Australia, though she is now second in line to the throne of Denmark. She runs her own charity, the Mary Foundation, that “aims to improve lives compromised by an environment, heredity, illness or other circumstances which can isolate or exclude people socially.” She sounds wonderful!
#4 Princess Zara
As the daughter of Princess Anne and Mark Phillips, Princess Zara is a member of the British royal family. She is married to Rugby player Mark Tindall, though her acclaim has mostly come from the back of a horse! She has won two gold medals for Britain at the European Eventing Championships and the World Equestrian Games.
#3 Princess Letizia
Princess Letizia of Spain was born into the middle class, but she’s riding high as a wife to Felipe, Prince of the Asturias and heir to the throne of Spain. She has a Master’s degree in Journalism and an impressive resume as a reporter for both an Austrian newspaper and an ABC newspaper.

Princess Eugenie of York is the younger sister of Prince Andrew, Duke of York and Sarah, Dutchess of York. She was the first member of any royal family to have a public christening. She was homeschooled throughout childhood, so she was able to travel around the world. Now, she works at an art gallery in London as an Associate Director.

Hailing from the tiny European country of Monaco is Princess Charlotte. Her parents are Stefano Casiraghi and Princess Caroline of Hanover, making her the fourth person in line to the throne! She’s effortlessly beautiful and gracious, leading her to become one of the most admired royals worldwide. She’s also the Editor in Chief of a British fashion magazine. Impressive!
No, not every little girl can grow up to be a princess, but some can! As you can see from these women, real life royal family members can still be smart, impressive, talented, and beautiful women.
